How do you "close" your pores on your arms & legs?

and how do you keep them closed?|||Ive heard that after taking a warm shower turn the water to cold for a few seconds, its suppose to close the pores and also make your hair shine more.|||I%26#039;ve never really heard of pores on your arms and legs, but I do know that a cool water rinse in the shower is supposed to seal moisture into your skin. And, it closes the cuticles in your hair.

Girls, How to De Clog Pores?

What should I use?

Tips would be awesome.|||Try to avoid wearing a lot of face makeup (foundation, concealer) and wash your face with warm water everyday.

If you want, you can try out a facial scrub. Some can work well on skin when used properly, but if you use scrubs (%26quot;exfoliators%26quot;) too often they can make your skin completely raw, and even clog pores more..

The simplest answer is to just remember wash your face daily; you can always trust water. |||Use a good scrub at least once a day!

How to shrink your pores on your facel?

Large Pores Treatment - Home remedies

SUGAR SCRUB

Ingredients: 1 Tablesoon each of sugar, olive oil and honey.

Wet face, apply scrub by rubbing very gently in a circular motion. Remove with water with hands only.

EGG WHITE MASK

Mix 2 egg whites with a few drops of lemon juice. Apply on face and leave on for 5-7 minutes, then rinse with hands.

Note: As egg whites dry, they linghten the skin and pull debris out of pores. Lemon is a natural fruit acid which also helps to exfoliate.

Or you may try the following to treat large pores

1) Mix almond meal with enough water to make a paste. Apply to pores for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then apply withch hazel or a solution of apple cider vinegar and water.

2) Mix table salt and buttermilk into a paste, apply on enlarged pores and massage well. Rinse with warm water.

3) Add lemon juice and a little milk to oatmeal. Apply the paste and remove after 20 minutes with water. Do not use if there are eruptions.

Tips on reducing large pores

Stop using harsh toners or astringents on the affected areas. Using these products may have a very temporary %26#039;tightening%26#039; effect on pores, but it%26#039;s extremely short-lived. In fact, harsh astringents actually encourage oil glands to over-produce oil, leading to an increase in the size of pores.

Avoid putting moisturiser on the area as the skin produces quite enough moisture and oil on its own and doesn%26#039;t need more.

Makeup tips to hide the appearance of large pores

Heavy foundations will draw attention to your large pores. So, stay with a sheer, light and oil free foundation.

Apply foundation, concealer, powder and blusher in a downward motion, otherwise you%26#039;ll accentuate pores by pushing colour up and into them.

perfect for oily acne-prone skin|||proactive helps me|||* Wash your face twice a day (thrice at most) with gentle and unperfumed cleanser. Avoid using soaps as they contain harsh chemicals and ingredients that can damage your skin.

* Avoid touching your face. Stop putting your hands by your face! I am often guilty of this resting my hand on the side of my head while reading. Also rubbing or bracing your chin is another common problem when thinking. Avoid rubbing, touching, or itching your skin with your hands. Your hands contain a lot of bacteria that can cause acne flare-ups. It is probably one of the most difficult things to avoid since much of the hand to face contact throughout the day we are unconscious of. Make it a habit to avoid hand contact and be conscious of it during the day to avoid bacteria.

* Avoid the temptation to pick, prick and squeeze your acne. This will send the infection deeper into the skin and can cause severe scarring.

* For mild to moderate acne, you can use over- the- counter topical ointments, solutions, lotions or gels that contain salicylic acid or azelaic acid as an alternative to benzoyl peroxide. Resorcinol, salicylic acid, and sulfur help break down blackheads and whiteheads. Salicylic acid also helps cut down the shedding of cells lining the follicles of the oil glands.

* Topical antibiotic solutions and lotions can also be applied.

* Tea tree oil is a natural antibiotic and antibacterial agent and has a drying effect on the skin. It keeps the P. Acnes bacteria at bay along with decreasing facial oiliness, which makes this oil a worthwhile investment.

* Sulfur helps to heal existing blemishes by unblocking pores.

* Alpha or Beta Hydroxy Acids (AHA or BHA) works by keeping the skin exfoliated. Glycolic acid, the most well-known of the bunch is a useful adjuvant therapy for mild acne. Mandelic acid, a lesser known one, but one that combines the keratolytic properties of glycolic acid with natural antibacterial properties that help reduce the presence of P. acnes, may be considered a more effective alpha hydroxy acid in treating acne lesions. It is also much less irritating than glycolic acid, a factor that may be very important to those with sensitive skin who are unable to use other agents such as Retin-A, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, or salicylic acid. It is effective in treating mild cases of acne on its own, and can be used successfully with other therapies on moderate acne.

These treatments are usually effective for mild to moderate acne problems only.

To unclog the pores in a natural way, take steam and it will open the pores. Now to clean the dirt of the pores, take oatmeal, coarse wheat flour, turmeric powder and some walnut shell powder in rose water. This will make a good exfoliator. Wet your face and apply the mixture and rub gently in circular motin. This will remove the dirt. If your skin is oily, use rose water and if it is combination, you can add curd as well.

i get one every 2 months. but be warned that often a facial brings all that crud up to the surface and your skin can get worse before it gets better.|||A good, complete facial consists of 8 steps: steam (to open the pores), exfoliation (to remove dead skin cells), extraction (to remove blackheads), creams (antibiotics or other anti-bacterial agents), lotions (moisterization), masks (heavy-duty moisture and tone improvement), peels (to clean deep in the pores), and massage (to encourage healthy blood flow). It will help pores, acne, AND redness, as well as many other conditions.

However, you should know that a facial will make your skin APPEAR worse for the first week, at least. You will notice increased redness, peeling, and itchiness. Plan to have a facial at least a week before you plan to attend any big events.

Large pores and blackheads on nose. how to eliminate?

i%26#039;ve had good skin my whole life but i%26#039;ve always had big pores and blackheads on my nose. how do i get rid of this crap? i have used those biore strips but those can only get so many blackheads out and does not shrink the pores. what gives?|||Large pores are caused by a few different things. First and most irritating: genetics. Some people have naturally large pores. Do other family members have large pores also? That%26#039;s a good indication. Everyone gets blackheads on the nose because that is one of the spots on the face that has the most active sebaceous glands. But if you keep your skin well-exfoliated the oil will flow freely out of your pores instead of becoming trapped under dead skin cells. You should also do a clay-based mask once or twice per month and steam at the same time. This helps a lot. Biore pore strips do not and will not shrink pores and can actually stretch and enlarge pores further. This is because an oil plug is teardrop-shaped with the larger end on the bottom. The strips pull the plug out from the top instead of being extracted with pressure from the bottom (like it would be during a facial) the large bottom will stretch the pore on it%26#039;s way out, sometimes causing an irregular-shaped pore that will always fill up regardless of what you do. So be careful with those! (aka: don%26#039;t use them) It%26#039;s unrealistic to expect that you can completely rid yourself of blackheads altogether but by using a gentle cleanser (one that does not strip the skin) toner and appropriate moisturizer coupled with twice weekly exfoliation and once or twice monthly masking/steaming you should be able to manage the number and frequency of blackheads. Also, your pores will look bigger if they are full. They should look smaller once the sebum plug is removed or dissolved. A good thing to try for an exfoliant is a sprinkle of baking soda with your normal cleanser. I hope this helps!|||Try this--

Blackheads are made up of excess oil. Also use a toner. Toners cool and refresh the skin. It has an astringent effect which tightens the skin temporarily and makes pores appear smaller. In other words, they cause casoconstriction (constriction in the capillaries) and help to refine the pores. They also contain humectant such as glycerin which attracts water to your skin. The humectant will help to keep moisture in the upper layers of skin by holding back its evaporation. If you have greasy skin, use a higher percentage alcohol content of toner. Balanced skin use 10% to 25%. Dry skin, 0%-20%. Sensitive, 0%-10%.|||after you get out of the shower squeeze it out.....and get a pore refining masque and a pore shrinking lotion.....more things to reduce the size of pores are gimmicks though.....size of pores is hereditary|||There is really nothing that you can do about the size of the pores. You can eliminate the dirt clogging the pores by either getting a facial, or giving yourself one. Cleanse your face in your normal way and then fill a bowl with boiling water and put a towel over your head and your face over the steaming bowl and stay there until you sweat. You can come up for air a few times, but let you face have a good steaming. Squeeze out the cores of the blackheads. Splash your face with cold water, pat dry with a towel. Use an astringent or toner, if you wish. You will be slightly red for about half an hour but you will notice that your pores are not clogged with dirt and appear less noticeable.|||check the links below for natural homemade beauty tips to:Whiteheads/Blackheads/

Does Powder/Mineral Powder foundation clog your pores? how bad is it realy for you?

i use the mineral powder and i absolutely love it. i do not feel that it clogs my pores as the liquid make up or cream make up has in the past. my face has been clear and has such a natural look. it is so light feeling that i cannot imagine it clogging your pores as I have had no problems with it myself. I absolutely love it. it does cost more than regular foundation but is worth it it goes a long way.|||no no no it does not clog your pores at all it is the best for you and actually heals your skin. mioneral makeup has to be at least 60% natural but you can get 100% natural ones too

its all good who ever told you otherwise DONT EVER TALK TO AGAIN!

lol |||Mineral make up shouldn%26#039;t clog your pores, no. You could sleep in it and it wouldn%26#039;t hurt your skin. I work with mineral makeup and people who use mineral make up, and while I%26#039;ve never actually seen it %26quot;heal%26quot; skin, here are some things I do know about it,

- Because it%26#039;s mineral it has -less- ingredients in it that will cause irritation to the skin... unless you have an allergy to Mica, or *Bismuth Oxychloride, both commonly found in most mineral makeups ( like bare minerals, for instance).

-If you%26#039;re interested in a great deal of coverage, then a mineral make up is not going to give it to you. People can argue with me on this one as much as they like, but I work with Bare Minerals every day and for people who have discoloration, hyperpigmentation, or acne, Bare doesn%26#039;t give them the coverage they%26#039;re hoping for.

-Some great mineral and natural lines, besides Bare Minerals, are,

-Tart... tart has pressed mineral powder (instead of loose) and a mineral pigment based liquid foundation that is really awesome.

-CoverFX... has both a pressed mineral powder and a loose mineral powder as well. CoverFX is a line that is dedicated to coverage and in my opinion will give you the best coverage for a mineral makeup.

-Sephora Brand... Sephora%26#039;s pressed mineral powder does NOT contain Bismuth Oxychloride or Mica.

-Korres natural line that has really great skin care and color.

(everything I%26#039;ve mentioned can be found on Sephora.com)

Mineral makeup is -great- if you are just interested in something gentle and natural, but it%26#039;s not -the only- answer, or a magic fix for wearing makeup and keeping your skin great. Unless you are -extremely- sensitive, and I do mean extremely, a good skin care regimen and wearing a good primer are the keys to giving you the freedom to wearing any kind of makeup without it have an adverse effect on your skin.

* If you%26#039;re allergic to Bismuth Oxychloride most mineral makeups will cause you to itch while wearing them.

Do antibiotic creams like neosporin clog up pores on the face?

No it doesn%26#039;t|||i would think so its full of oil|||If the neosporin is in CREAM form, no. It will not clog your pores. However, the ointment tends to because of the petroleum jelly base. Whats the best fix for big pores?

Toners with alcohol - although they can dry the face. Orange marmelaid works for me. So does tuna fish.|||Minimize Your Pores

Your Daily Regimen: Folow these steps in the morning to make pores look smaller. (Do your usual cleaning at night.)

step 1: CLEANSE

LOOK FOR an oil-free, deep-cleansing wash to remove dirt and oil. Keeping pores clean will prevent them from getting bigger.

step 2: SCRUB

LOOK FOR a scrub that has salicylic acid to loosen the deep layers of dead skin and oil that can stretch out your pores.

step 3: PROTECT

LOOK FOR SPF 30 lotion to protect skin from the sun (its rays break down collagen, which can make pores bigger over time).

step 4: MATTIFY

LOOK FOR a mattifying gel with salicylic acid to soak up oil so it won%26#039;t sit in your pores. The gel disguises large pores too!

FYI: It will take three months to notice a difference in your skin, so be patient and stick with the regimen.

Microdermabrasion followed by a replenishing cream also helps with this considerably.

As a skincare professional for 10 years...I do want to let you know that some of the advice you have gotten is based on misconceptions or rumors in the marketplace. Please know I%26#039;m not trying to dis anyone...just being helpful. There are so many untruths out there.

Cold water and ice is a temporary fix. For a minute or so your pores will retract...but they%26#039;ll open right back up. Just as they open up when you apply heat...but then close quickly.

NEVER, ever, never use a harsh scrub or harsh mask with large pores. You will create blemishes. The larger particles get trapped in the pores and cause black heads and white heads. Always use a gentle mask...and DO NOT scrub your face ever. Even with microderm you go in gentle circles. No scrubbing.

If you have OILY skin...acne type products that have salysilic acids are fine in moderation. But this is only for very oily skin. NEVER put straight alcohol on your face unless you are trying to kill something...bacteria, for instance. If you have dry skin, even be weary of certain toners that contain alcohol.

Pore minimizers are basically toners or harsher chemicals. Good skincare eliminates the need for their use.

If you want some help choosing a good skincare routine, or would like samples of the products I have...let me know! Good luck!

Neutrogena has a facial scrub that is for pore refining and reduction that works fairly well. Pores minimizing face mask?

I want to use egg white as a pore minimizing mask, but i dont know how often should i do it? can i use it daily?|||(You should masks no more than 3x a week.)These are the masks that I use for my large pores. They look so much better since I started using these recipes.

I use the papaya mask first and then the green clay after it. I only use the egg whites on every once in a while.

Papaya mask/exfoliant

Cut papaya in 1 inch chunks. Blend/mash 2 or 3 chunks and store the wrest in the freezer. Apply the blended/mashed papaya and leave on face for 10-20 min. Use 2 or 3x a week.

The papaya may tingle but that just means that the papaya is working and it is breaking down dead skin cells to give that lovely glow and since it breaks down the dead skin it clears out the pores and in turn they shrink!!! (You may not see the results you want until you use it for a while.)

Egg white mask

1 egg white

1 tsp. cornstarch

Beat ingredients. Apple to face, let dry 10-15 min. Rinse.

(Tightens pores. Makes you look like you got a mini face lift!!)

Clay Facial mask

Choose the right clay for your skin type. (French-oily-acne, bentonite-normal, cosmetic or white-any, kaolinite pink-normal-combo, kaolinite white-dry-mature, kaolinite red-sensitive. Add plain water or floral waters or try wetting agents such as fruit purees . Make a thick paste of the clay. Apply the mask to your skin and let it dry for 20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and pat dry. Repeat weekly. ( I use french clay)

try a bior nose peel

:)

it works|||Try googling pictures of various skin conditions and see what most closely resembles what you have.

Acne and big pores what should i do?

Ok so i just bought the clean and clear acne control kit and im waiting to see if it works but i also wanted to know if i can use a pore minimizer while i use the acne kit or will it make the acne kit stop working. Should i just use toner to make my pores look smaller? which one would be best pore minimizer or toner with make up. I also wanted to know if it would be safe to wear make up while i use it|||Just use your kit, then splash your face with cold water after cleaning or toner.

cold water closes pores|||Just use the kit. I got it the other day and it is working.

Making pores smaller might not be good. I use warm water before washing because if theyre bigger the medication can get in there better.

Does smashbox foundation primer realy cloges pores?how would u know if your pores r clogged after using it?

You would break out or get blackheads if your pores were clogged. You can also try their Light Primer (the white one), it is oil-free and for sensitive, acne-prone skin. I love both of them!|||your skin will break out|||Youd know if your pores are clogged because you would break out in spots.

How to reduce the size of large facial pores?

use a good astringent like witch hazel or a product made by clairol called Sea Breeze. It will clean out your pores and skrink them down as well.

Along with that you could also use a good Mint Julep masque (queen helene makes a really good spa quality masque), as it dries it absorbs oil and keeps those pores small.

Hope that will help :)|||try washing your face with cold water instead of warm:)

Use a clay mask once a week|||use a good mud mask|||use commercial products.|||Clinique Pore Minimizer Thermal-Active Skin Refiner works great!|||Stop looking through a Magnifying Mirror... hehe|||Quick fix: Ice cubes rubbed over face

Long term: use an exfoliating scrub to minimize pores and clay masks also work well|||According to last months cosmo, there is no way to reduce your pore size. they are what they are. lol. sorry.

Face powder/cream brands that won't clog pores?

What are some great brands of foundation to buy that won%26#039;t cause breakouts..and any other great skin products to use to prevent breakouts [especially before your period..that%26#039;s when i need it lol]|||I use covergirl and I don%26#039;t break out. When you do break out use some benzol peroxide like this http://www.clearasil.us/creams/creams_va鈥?/a>

the store brand of that works just as good but is cheaper too. hope I helped ya !!!!! :)|||Bee-Luscious! No oils. No talc. NO bismuth. It%26#039;s a bit more expensive but it won%26#039;t clog your pores. It stays on all day and don%26#039;t feel heavy on your face.

Use their papaya cleanser and scrubs that will help prevent the acne breakouts.

http://www.beeroyalproducts.com/store/ho鈥?/a>|||MAC is very good|||I usually have terrible acne, but I switched to Bare Naturale from Loreal. It covers very well, but it also is weightless. You don%26#039;t even feel like you have makeup on.|||Dermacia|||I have the same problem, here are my HG products:

Skincare: Peter Thomas Roth - medicated acne scrub, spf 30 daily oil-free moisturizer. ( big bottles last long time)

Since medicated products can be very drying, I use Ponds Creme for Dry skin at night (cheap - which is good, as Peter Thomas Roth products are little expensive, moisturizes well and does not clog pores).

foundation: Oil- free water based Make Up For Ever Face and Body foundation. ( these stuff is great!!! It gives me that flawless %26quot;cover%26quot; look.. a must have for me)

good luck|||clinique tinted moisturizer won%26#039;t clog.|||it all depends on the coverage and effect that you are looking to achieve. a good primer will always protect your skin and make your foundation last all day without a single touch up. mac prep %26amp; prime is fantastic. it contains silicone particles that will %26#039;fill%26#039; any gaps in the skin withoug clogging, and calm ary redress down too. put this on under your foundation, just think of it like an undercoat. i havent used it but smashbox photo finish is meant to be good too.

minerals foundations are fantastic, they give a smooth even coverage, providing you apply it correctly. just dont use the applicator that you get with it, as its normally of quite bad standard. and use swirling motions to apply it.

liquid foundations are also good to use, as long as you use the right one for your skintype. if you are prone to break outs buy an oil free foundation (it will state this) would be the best one for you, i use laura mercier and i love it. and i have bad acne, if you are unsure go to your local department store and look at what brands you know and ask the consulant questions and they will help you look for a foundation to suit. just remember to look at all the options, as some consultants are paid commission on sales and will try to pressure you into buying their brand. mac, stila, and nars dont give their staff commisson but benefit do. for the record benefit foundation isnt good, it lasts five minutes|||Bare Minerals (or essentials) is the best foundation for anyone of any skin color. It%26#039;s all minerals! I have not picked up a bottle of liquid foundation since I have found Bare Minerals. Liquid is bad for your skin, it includes talc and all the other bad stuff. I highly recommend Bare Minerals. Or, if you want something cheaper, Maybelline %26amp; Loreal also have mineral foundation that ranges from $12-$6. Go to a drugstore or sephora, depending on your cost range. If you are looking for liquid foundation though, you might want to try Neutrogena. In the skin department, I would go to my doctor and get a perscribed acne gel for night. I know how annoying acne can be.

Good Luck|||Arbonne International has amazing products - they do not use mineral oil which can be a big clogging factor. They also do not use animal by-products. I use the Line Defiance with SPF 15 and have no trouble with breakouts - I also have a really good skin care regimen with them that has made tons of difference! At a minimum you want to wash, use a toner, and moisturize.
